Just got mine today. This is a joke. Not only does it not hold the iPhone up, but it doesn't sit at any kind of an angle such as portrayed in the picture, which is probably doctored. The iPhone stands almost straight up, at an almost 90-degree angle to the table. But only if I hold the iPhone up--it would fall down otherwise. The physics just aren't there for it to work. Subramani is absolutely correct. I have no idea what perdido lane could be thinking.

I bought this for my iPhone 4. Initially I didn't think it would work as it fell over no matter how I placed it on the stand. Then I took off the case and it works fine. It would be ideal to not have to take the case off to use... but for $3.00... I can deal with it.

I wanted something to hold my fire while watching movies on the plane, and for me this works well since I wanted it to be as small as possible.
It stands a little more straight up than the phone does in the pictures, but is stable in landscape mode and can hold it in portrait but its not very stable.
Keep in mind that there is no tilt adjustment and if you are using a case this stand will fit different or possibly not work at all.

I use it for my latest-gen iPod Touch for facetiming with my kids. I have to use it with the thin case on to stand up right, but it seems to work well. I drilled a small hole in it to rubber-band it to my sync cable so it all stays with my travel gear.

used with my iphone4 with the bumper. It seems so simple, but in the best world of design it 'just works'. Bought 2, 1 for home, 1 for office.
